What We Do:

Rad Impact is a non profit organization that believes basic health care is a human right and is dedicated to helping address the disparities that exist most prominently in rural 3rd world countries.  Providing obstetric providers (commonly midwives) with access to ultrasound technology is a cost effective, powerful mechanism to improve maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.  Rad Impact is committed to not only equipping rural clinics with ultrasound equipment, but also providing comprehensive training on diagnosis and management.  Furthermore, the organization pulls on the expertise of physicians and nurses who have experience teaching obstetric and neonatal emergency courses to provide formal established courses to midwives.

" The Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics and Helping Babies Survive courses are well established curriculums that provide midwives in rural areas with knowledge  and tools to provide life saving  care for their patients."

 - Dr. Kinnevey, Family Medicine

Rad Impact provides rural Ugandan health centers and midwives with ultrasound machines, obstetrical ultrasound training, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Helping Babies Survive (HBS) training to improve maternal and fetal health.

"Ultrasound provides a window into the body so I can actually see the anatomy and pathology.  It is easy to learn and inexpensive.   I believe it is the key to improving health care in rural, underserved communities."

Dr. Dave Douglas, Radiology, Tenwek Hospital, Bomet Kenya.
